Honors are being given to unsung heroes for some years
After the Modi government came to power, efforts are being made to take the Padma awards to the general public. People are being chosen for this who do extraordinary things but they often live in oblivion. The PM himself has taken the initiative to honor such people. Over the years, the Modi government has honored hundreds of unsung heroes with Padma awards for their achievement in various fields and their contribution to the society. These awards, started in 1954, are announced on the occasion of Republic Day.
