The havoc of Corona is still not completely stopped in the country. Cases are increasing in some states of the country. No one is able to escape from its grip. Home Ministry data has revealed that 331 jawans in the central paramilitary force have died due to corona. More than 40 percent of these deaths occurred in the second wave. According to the Union Home Ministry, so far 84 thousand soldiers in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been infected with Corona. Of these, 331 have died. Of these, more than 35 percent of infections and more than 40 percent of deaths occurred between the third week of March to the peak of the second wave. Significantly, in March 2021, the second wave of Corona caused havoc in the country. More than four lakh infection cases were coming daily and the number of daily deaths was around 4 thousand.
CRPF most affected
Central Reserve Police Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has the highest number of deaths among paramilitary forces. A total of 84,045 paramilitary forces personnel were infected with Corona so far, out of which 24840 personnel were from CRPF only. Due to Kovid 19, CRPF had to lose 125 of its jawans. After this, 22,978 soldiers were corona infected in the Border Security Force (BSF). Out of these 90 soldiers lost their lives. 19,676 personnel of CISF’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were infected with Corona, out of which 76 died. This data is between July 6 of this month since the corona epidemic came last year.
99 percent of the soldiers have got the vaccine
Since the outbreak of the corona epidemic in March 2020, till 23 March 2021, 53,343 personnel of central paramilitary forces were infected with corona and 203 of them had died. But after March, the second wave of corona came and caught many soldiers in its grip. During the second wave, 15,610 CRPF personnel, 15,610 BSF personnel, 15,610 CISF personnel, 5,747 Sashastra Seema Bal personnel, 4,736 ITBP personnel, 660 NDRF personnel and 349 NSG personnel have been infected. Vaccine doses of these soldiers started being given from February 2021. So far, 99 percent of the jawans have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 90 percent of the soldiers have also received the second dose. By the time the second wave of corona began, most soldiers have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
