New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir and a yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh for Tuesday, warning of heavy rain. According to the Meteorological Department, Red Alert has been issued for Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra and Orange Alert has been issued for Gujarat, parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Assam.
Keeping in view the weather conditions, the department issues warnings of four colors green, yellow, orange and red depending on the severity. In this, green is the lightest warning and red is the most severe level. The department said that a yellow alert has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and parts of West Bengal and Kerala.
After the arrival of Southwest Monsoon on Sunday, various parts of the country have been receiving heavy rains, while there have been incidents of thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. The Meteorological Department said that heavy rain is expected at some places in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya on Tuesday. He said that heavy rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Vidarbha in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala and Mahe on Tuesday.
