Thrissur’s DMO Dr KJ Reena said, ‘She has been hit by Kovid-19. The infection was confirmed in his RT-PCR test report while the antigen report did not find infection. They did not show any symptoms.
Reena said that the woman was preparing to go to New Delhi for studies. During this RT-PCR examination of his samples was done, in which the infection was confirmed. The doctor said that the woman is currently at home and ‘she is in good health.’
Significantly, on 30 January 2020, a third year medical student of Wuhan University was found infected with the corona virus. She became the country’s first Kovid-19 patient after returning home after the semester break.
After about three weeks of treatment at Thrissur Medical College Hospital, his test report came negative twice. With this his recovery from the infection was confirmed and he was discharged on 20 February 2020.
Corona situation in Kerala
On Monday, 7798 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Kerala and 100 more patients died due to the epidemic. With this, the total cases of infection increased to 30 lakh 73 thousand 134 and the number of dead reached 14 thousand 686.
There were 1092 new cases of infection in Thrissur, 780 in Kozhikode and 774 in Kollam. Health Minister Veena George gave this information in a release. He told that the infection rate in the state is 9.14 percent.
The minister also said that the government would launch a campaign to vaccinate all pregnant women in the state. George said, “Till now 1 crore 59 lakh 6 thousand 153 people have been given vaccine in the state, out of which 1 crore 16 lakh 31 thousand 528 people have been given the first dose and 42 lakh 74 thousand 625 people have been given the second dose. “
“More than 30 per cent of the state’s population has been vaccinated,” the minister said. Meanwhile, on Monday, 11 thousand 447 people were cured, after which the number of people who had recovered increased to 29 lakh 46 thousand 870. At present 1 lakh 11 thousand 93 patients are under treatment in the state.
