Dispur: The minister of the Assam government has given a big statement regarding the vacant posts in the state. Minister Rajkumar Das said that more than one lakh posts are vacant in different grades in the state. These posts are lying vacant in different 50 departments. Rajkumar Das is handling the General Administration Ministry. He told that all these posts are lying vacant since 2016. Let us inform that in May 2016, the BJP government was formed in Assam and Sarbananda Sonowal was elected the Chief Minister of the state.
Giving a written reply to the questions of Leader of Opposition Devvrat Saikia, he said, “A total of 1,07,149 posts are vacant in the state. Which is in grade-I to IV of all categories. These posts are lying vacant in different 50 departments.
More than 50 thousand posts vacant in education department
In response, it was also told that maximum number of posts are vacant in the education department. More than 50 thousand posts are vacant in the education department. At the same time, about 20 thousand posts are lying vacant in Home and Political Department.
9 thousand posts vacant in health department
Minister Rajkumar Das said, “More than nine thousand posts are vacant in the Health and Family Welfare Department of the state.”
Minister Rajkumar Das said that steps are being taken to fill the vacancies in the departments. However, no information was given regarding when these posts would be filled.
About one thousand posts vacant in the secretariat
Replying to a separate question by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Aminul Islam, Rajkumar Das said that 956 posts are also vacant in the state secretariat.
