Padma Awards: The online process of nomination and nomination for Padma Awards has started. Its last date is 15 September 2021. Next year on the occasion of Republic Day, the winners of the Padma award will be announced. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, online nomination is being done for this by visiting the Padma Awards portal padmaawards.gov.in.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people regarding the Padma awards. He said in his tweet, “There is no dearth of such talented people in India who are doing extraordinary work at the grassroot level. We do not get a chance to hear or see much about such people. Know about extraordinary persons. You can nominate them for the Padma award. This process can be done by September 15.”
For some time now, Padma awards are being given to the unsung heroes of the society.
The Padma Awards include Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. These are among the highest civilian honors of the country. Efforts are being made by the Modi government to take the Padma awards to the general public. In the last few years, such people are being selected for this, who do extraordinary work in the society, but they often remain in oblivion. The PM himself has taken the initiative to honor such people.
Over the years, the government has honored hundreds of unsung heroes with Padma awards for their achievement in various fields and their contribution to the society. These awards, started in 1954, are announced on the occasion of Republic Day.
