IMD On Social Media Trolling: The forecasts and predictions issued by the Meteorological Department may not have been accurate regarding the monsoon, but on most occasions, the alerts issued by the Meteorological Department work to save the people by giving timely warnings at the time of disaster in the country. But due to the recent lapse, there was a lot of trolling on social media regarding the forecast of the Meteorological Department. Meteorologist RK Jenamani spoke openly about this matter in a special conversation with ABP News.
Genmani said, “We have been working for many years, but there was never any trolling. It was hot in June and July, people were in trouble, so what do troubled people do. We look at Twitter, follow. Who What is writing. Our skill is of prediction and prediction can be wrong. Any prediction, be it medical or agriculture, can be wrong, because it is not a fact. It is the same all over the world.
Meteorological Department accepted its mistake
Ginamani says that if we make a mistake, we accept it. We all do public service, so we also accept mistakes. In the past, on July 11 and 12, dark clouds had formed, but if it did not rain, then it is a matter for us to think about. But the mistake happened only in the prediction of Delhi. The estimates of Haryana and Punjab were correct.
Actually the arrival of monsoon was from Kerala on 3rd June, till that time the speed of monsoon was good. By June 19, the monsoon had reached Rajasthan, but after that the Mausam Bhavan forecast that it was going to be a weak monsoon. This is because the heat wave had increased and the temperature was also increasing. Normal monsoon was supposed to happen from July 8, but it did not happen either. Monsoon was forecast to arrive in Delhi by 15th June, but on 14th June it was noted that the progress has slowed down.
According to the Meteorological Department, for the first time in 19 years, the monsoon has come so late in Delhi, before that in 2002, the monsoon came till July 19.
