New Delhi: PM Modi today discussed the situation in Corona with the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala through video conferencing. In front of the Chief Ministers of these states, PM Modi also praised the UP government. Referred to the 3T model of the UP government. Praising the Yogi government of UP, PM Modi said, “The Uttar Pradesh government has worked on the strategy of test, trace and treat to prevent corona infection. The state has done 5.7 crore tests. The daily testing capacity here is 1.5 million. The people of Uttar Pradesh have completely rejected the SP, BSP in the Zilla Parishad and Block elections. They have given the message of sitting at home and given the responsibility of working to the BJP.
“Increasing number of corona cases in 6 states still worrying”
To the Chief Ministers of all the six states, PM Modi said, ‘We are standing at a juncture at this time where the possibility of a third wave is being continuously expressed. The increasing number of cases in some states still remains worrying. Last week, about 80 percent of the new corona cases have come from the same states in which you are (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala). There is a steady increase in cases in Maharashtra and Kerala. Experts say that due to increasing cases continuously for a long time, the possibility of mutations in the corona virus increases, the risk of new variants increases. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective steps against Corona to stop the third wave.
PM Modi further said, ‘Funds are being made available to all the states of the country for making new ICU beds, increasing the testing capacity and for all other needs. Recently, the central government has also released an emergency covid response package of more than Rs 23000 crore.
