Jammu: Security forces today killed two terrorists who were responsible for several attacks on security forces in an encounter in Saidapora area of Soura in outer Srinagar. Both had killed a duty policeman in the same area and were also involved in the murder of a CID inspector in June. According to IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, Srinagar Police launched the operation acting on a specific input generated through informers about the presence of terrorists in Alamdar Colony Danmar area of Srinagar, a joint cordon through Police and CRPF in the said area. And the search operation was launched.
As soon as the presence of terrorists was detected during the search operation, they were given repeated opportunities to surrender. However, they fired indiscriminately at the joint search party, which was retaliated in the early hours of an encounter. Incriminating material, arms and ammunition 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 pistol and 4 grenades were recovered from the encounter site. All the recovered materials have been taken into the case record for further investigation and to check their involvement in other terror crimes.
