Two more people have been confirmed to be infected with the Zika virus in Kerala. After this, the total cases of this virus in the state have increased to 30. State Health Minister Veena George said on Friday that 10 out of 30 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
George said in a release that two more people who were found infected with Zika are residents of Nedungandand Anayara area of Thiruvananthapuram. It has been told that the tests done in the Virology Laboratory at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College have confirmed that he is suffering from Zika virus.
According to the release, he said that apart from Zika, dengue cases are also being reported from different districts and hence, both have to be tackled and this can happen only if all the three departments work together.
