New Delhi: According to ICMR, both doses of corona vaccine reduce the risk of death by 95% and a single dose reduces the risk of death by 82%. Recently, ICMR did a study on Tamil Nadu policemen, on the basis of which this claim was made.
The ICMR conducted a study on Tamil Nadu Police between February 1 and May 14 this year, in which policemen from Tamil Nadu were included. Because they are frontline workers and live among people. This study was done on a total of 1,17,524 policemen. Out of which 67,673 policemen had taken both doses of the vaccine, while 32,792 had taken only one dose and 17,059 were those who did not receive a single dose.
The study found that 31 of these people died, out of which 4 were those who had received both doses. At the same time, seven people had got one dose of the vaccine and there were 20 people who did not get the corona vaccine.
It is clear from this study that those who took both the doses reduced the risk of death by 95% and the risk of death by one dose decreased by 82%. Also, the study found that vaccinated people reduce the chances of going to the hospital by 77%. Oxygen requirement is reduced by 95%. The need for ICU is reduced by 94%. It is clear from the study that the vaccine is preventable and even if the infection does occur, it is not serious and is not known.
