Guwahati: The government of Hemant Bishwa Sharma in Assam presented the budget for 201-22 in the assembly on Friday. The budget proposes to create one lakh new government jobs and no new taxes have been imposed. The budget deficit is estimated to be Rs 566 crore in the current financial year.

However, the opposition parties criticized the budget calling it ‘anti-people’. has told. He says it has no real proposition to solve the current problems including price hike. The commission said that due to moderation during the last financial year, the tax collection of the tax department has come down to Rs 14,645 crore from Rs 14,967 crore in the previous financial year.
