New Delhi: The government is repeatedly insisting that people get the corona vaccinated, but some such cases were also reported in the country that those who took the vaccine were also getting infected. On this, ICMR did a nationwide study, in which the reason for the infection has been known.
The delta variant caused the second wave of corona in the country, this variant is still infecting people in the country who have been vaccinated. This has come to the fore in the study of ICMR. The name of this study is Breakthrough Infection, that is, investigation of cases of infection after vaccination. Breakthrough Infection is the largest and first nationwide study, which was conducted in 17 states and union territories.
ICMR had collected samples of 677 infected people who have received the first or both doses. Of these, 604 patients were vaccinated against Covishield, 71 had Covaccine and two had sinoform vaccine.
The study found that the delta variant of the corona virus was the cause of infection in 86.09% out of 677 cases. Although only 9.8% of the cases required hospitalization, the patient died in only 0.4% of the cases. It has also been said in the study that if the dreadful third wave of corona is to be stopped, then the people of the country will have to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Let us inform that till now a total of 39 crore 53 lakh 43 thousand 767 doses of corona vaccine have been applied across the country. In which 31 crore 61 lakh 16 thousand189 people have been given the first dose and 7 crore 92 lakh 27 thousand 578 people have been given the second dose of corona vaccine.
