Incessant rain continues in Mumbai since last night. After heavy rains, many areas of Mumbai have been flooded. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert today. That is, today it is expected to rain heavily throughout the day and a glimpse of it has started showing in the pictures. Thane, Palghar and Raigad adjoining Mumbai are also witnessing tremendous havoc of rain today.
Water has entered homes in many areas of Mumbai. Throughout the night people were busy in taking out the water from the house. Andheri and adjoining low-lying areas have been flooded. Dadar was filled with so much water that BEST buses are seen to be more than half submerged. There is also news of wall collapse in Bhandup due to heavy rains. Many shops in Kandivali have been flooded, due to which goods worth lakhs got spoiled.
Today is a Sunday, so it is a matter of relief that most of the people are not compelled to go to work. Due to the rain, the railway tracks have also been flooded. That is, today the movement from local will also be affected.
Heavy rain forecast in the country’s capital Delhi today
The sky remained clear in the national capital on Saturday morning. But on Sunday, heavy rain has been forecast in isolated places in the city. Meteorologists have predicted partly cloudy sky and light rain or thundershowers in the evening. At the same time, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 37 degree Celsius. The city received its first monsoon rain on Tuesday. Monsoon normally arrives in the national capital till June 27 but this time it came with a delay of 16 days.
