AAP Protest Against BJP: The Uttarakhand wing of the Aam Aadmi Party today protested against the remarks made by the BJP on the demand of Bharat Ratna for environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna. Assembly elections are to be held in Uttarakhand next year, the effect of which is visible in Delhi as well. A few days ago, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded Bharat Ratna to Uttarakhand-born environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, after which BJP spokesperson tweeted and wrote that Arvind Kejriwal has thought of Bharat Ratna as a packet of Rewari. On this remark, the Aam Aadmi Party says that BJP has insulted Uttarakhand.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar, who reached the protest, said that the way BJP spokesperson Naveen Kumar has insulted Uttarakhand and Sunderlal Bahuguna, the whole country is ashamed of it. He has not only insulted the people of Uttarakhand, he has insulted the entire country. Sunderlal Bahuguna had fought to save the water-forest of Uttarakhand, people know him as the Gandhi of Uttarakhand. It is shameful for them to say so. We demand an apology, if we do not apologize, then this fight will go a long way.
The protesting Aam Aadmi Party workers proceeded to gherao the BJP office, but the police barricaded the protesters and stopped them midway. On the issue of Uttarakhand, BJP also protested today to gherao the Aam Aadmi Party office. BJP alleges that the spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party has insulted the people of Uttarakhand by using abusive words. Through the protests in Delhi, both the parties are targeting the Uttarakhand elections.
