WTC Final: New Zealand’s team is being praised all over the world after registering a spectacular victory in the final match of the World Test Championship. All the veterans including Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman have praised the New Zealand team. Now former New Zealand cricketers Brendon McCullum and Richard Hadlee have praised the team for winning the WTC title under the captaincy of Kane Williamson, saying that the players present in the team are the best players in their history.
What did McCullum say
McCullum said, “This match was very different. It felt like the last two World Cups but we got a good result against the weather. It is a big deal to beat the Indian team in such a big match.” “I’m sure as we remember this moment for years to come, we’ll be proud of what a team led by Williamson has accomplished,” he said. McCullum said, “A country that has limited resources and performs like this against a team that is called the powerhouse of world cricket, it is very enjoyable and it gives more satisfaction than doing it in a big match.”
What did Hadley say?
“The entire team has displayed a high degree of professionalism. The management and support staff have also played a big part in helping these players perform at a high level,” Hadlee said in a statement via New Zealand Cricket. He said, “New Zealand cricket has picked up strong players over the years, due to which our team is one of the most competitive team in world cricket. It would not be wrong to say that the players of the current team are the best players in our history.”
