ENG Vs SL: In the limited overs series being played against Sri Lanka, hosts England have suffered a major setback. England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the remaining T20I series with Sri Lanka and the ODI series due to injury. The England and Wales Cricket Board issued a statement and informed about Butler’s exit.
Butler was taken for an MRI on Thursday morning. Butler had trouble after the first match against Sri Lanka. The ECB has also announced the replacement of Butler. David Malan has been included in the team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in place of Butler.
Butler did not play in the second T20 match against Sri Lanka. England won the match by five wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Butler had recently said that it would be difficult for the players to go to Australia for the Ashes series without family. He was in the headlines after this statement.

Jos Buttler returned to England in early May after the suspension of the Indian Premier League season 14. In the Test series played against New Zealand in early June, the ECB decided to rest Buttler.
