IND Vs ENG: After the defeat in the ICC World Test Championship, Team India’s troubles are not taking the name of lessening. Indian team’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma was injured during the final match of the WTC. For this reason, Ishant Sharma has got stitches in the fingers of his left hand.
However, there is nothing to panic for the Indian team. Ishant Sharma’s injury is not very serious. According to the information revealed, Ishant Sharma can be completely fit within one to two weeks. However, Ishant Sharma has been advised rest till he is fit.
India has to play a five-match Test series against England in August-September. Before this, the team will conduct a training camp in Durham. An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued an update on Ishant Sharma’s injury. “Ishant has got stitches but the injury is not serious. He is fine. The stitches will be removed in a week or two,” the official said.
Team India has options
Ishant suffered an injury during New Zealand’s second innings while attempting to block Ross Taylor’s shot. This was Ishant’s seventh over but after injury his over was completed by Jasprit Bumrah.
Ishant bowled 31.2 overs and took three wickets. He took all the wickets in the first innings. Ishant may be fit before July 15 when the team leaves for Durham for the camp in view of the five-match series.
However, the Indian team currently has good options for Ishant Sharma in fast bowling. Mohammad Siraj has been making a strong claim in Team India since his brilliant performance in Australia. In the WTC final also, there was every possibility of Mohammad Siraj playing in place of Ishant Sharma. But the team management finally decided to give priority to experience.
