WI Vs SA: West Indies have made a great start in the T20 series against South Africa. West Indies beat South Africa by 8 wickets in the first T20I. The hero of West Indies’ victory was Evin Lewis, who scored a stormy half-century. It was the first time after 6 years that Pollard, Chris Gayle, Russell and Bravo were playing together in a T20 match.
West Indies hit 15 sixes
Andre Russell also scored 23 not out in 12 balls. Lewis hit four fours and seven sixes in his innings. Some 15 sixes were hit in West Indies’ innings. This match on Saturday was the first T20 match between the two teams after the 2016 T20 World Cup. West Indies won the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Earlier, South Africa had a good start. The team were in a good position at 95 for two in the 11th over, thanks to the in-form Quinton de Kock (37 off 24 balls) and Resie van der Dussen (56 not out in 38 balls). The team, however, lost wickets at regular intervals after that and failed to put up a big total. Only five sixes were hit during South Africa’s innings.
