It has to be seen whether the panel appointed by the Sports Ministry chooses Mithali for the award in the Olympic year. Mithali completed 22 years in international cricket last week. The 38-year-old is the most successful batsman in ODIs with over 7000 runs.
Mithali and Ashwin have received Arjuna Award
Dhawan will captain India in the limited overs series in Sri Lanka and is a strong contender for the Arjuna Award. The left-handed batsman scored 5977 runs in 142 one-day internationals and scored 2315 and 1673 runs for India in Test cricket and T20 matches respectively.
