Former Indian captain and veteran all-rounder of his time, Kapil Dev has questioned the fitness of the current fast bowlers. He says that it is sad to see today’s bowlers getting tired after bowling for four overs.
Kapil Dev, who won India the 1983 World Cup title under his captaincy, said in a conversation with a TV channel, “Today’s cricket is basic. You have to either bat or bowl. In our times it was not like that. Everything had to be done. Cricket has completely changed now.”
The former Indian captain further said, “Sometimes I am sad to see that players get tired after bowling just four overs. I have heard that they are not allowed to bowl more than three or four overs. I remember Yes, in our time, we could not say that this is right and this is wrong. If the last batsman also came to bat, then we had to bowl at least 10 overs. In today’s era, four overs are enough for them Which makes the players of our era very strange.
Such was the career of Kapil Dev
Kapil Dev, who made his international debut for India in 1978, played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs. In Tests, Kapil took 5248 runs and 434 wickets. In Tests, his bat scored eight centuries and 27 half-centuries. At the same time, he has 3783 runs and 253 wickets in ODIs. Even today Kapil is called India’s best all-rounder.
