The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not included senior players like Mohammad Hafeez and Haris Sohail in the central contract for next season while captain Babar Azam has been given a place in the A category. The PCB has included a total of 20 cricketers in the central contract. It has also decided to increase the salary of centrally contracted players by 25 percent.
PCB also announced to increase the monthly salary of all the four categories of players by 25 percent. Match fees for all formats have also been made the same. Earlier match fees were different in each format according to the category of the player.
The board said, "But now it has been changed. Match fees have been increased for B, C and emerging categories in Test, ODI and T20 formats so that all players get the same match fee."
This contract is for 12 months which will run from 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022.
The list of centrally contracted cricketers of Pakistan for the year 2021-22 is as follows.
Category A – Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Category B – Azhar Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Fawad Alam, Shadab Khan and Yasir Shah.
Category C – Abid Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Nauman Ali and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Rising range – Imran Butt, Shahnawaz Dahani and Usman Qadir.
