Team India seems to be getting a big relief before the Test series against England. An update has come about Ishant Sharma’s injury. According to the information revealed, Ishant Sharma can be fully fit before the start of the Test series. Not only this, Ishant Sharma will also participate in the practice camp with Team India in Durham.
Ishant Sharma was injured in the ICC World Test Championship final played against New Zealand last month. During the fielding in the last innings of the match, Ishant Sharma injured the fingers of his left hand. Ishant Sharma had stitches on his left hand fingers.
However, the team management had already made it clear that Ishant Sharma’s injury is not serious. At present, the players of Team India are celebrating their holidays in England. Soon India has to start its practice in Durham. Apart from this, on the initiative of BCCI, the England Cricket Board can also give Team India a chance to play one or two practice matches with the county team.
Ishant breaks Kapil Dev’s record
The stitches on Ishant Sharma’s hand may be removed early next week. After the stitches are removed, Ishant Sharma will be allowed to practice. Ishant Sharma being fit is also important because he is the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests on England soil. During the WTC final itself, Ishant achieved this position by breaking Kapil Dev’s record.
In the case of Shubman Gill, however, Team India does not seem to be getting relief. Shubman Gill’s injury is very serious and he is sure to be out of the Test series. Prithvi Shaw is being given a place in the team in place of Shubman Gill. Reserve player Abhimanyu Easwaran, however, is also in the race to be a part of Team India.
