IND Vs ENG Women: Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj continued her excellent form in the three-match ODI series being played against England. Mithali Raj played an unbeaten 75 in the last match of the series to give India a four-wicket victory. It was because of Mithali that India could save themselves from a clean sweep in the series. However, England had won the series by winning both the ODIs first.
Earlier the match was reduced to 47-47 overs due to rain. Batting first, England had set a target of 219 runs in front of India. Mithali Raj faced 86 balls in her innings and hit eight fours and helped India achieve the target of 219 runs in 46.3 overs.
Apart from Mithali, Smriti Mandhana played an innings of 49 runs in 57 balls with the help of eight fours for India. Apart from this, Sneh Rana scored 24 runs in 22 balls with the help of three fours. The 50-run partnership between Sneh and Mithali brought India close to victory. Six runs were needed in the last over and Mithali style gave her team victory by hitting fours.
Brilliant performance by Indian bowlers
Sophie Eccleston was the most successful bowler for England. Sophie took two wickets for 36 runs in 10 overs.
Earlier, the Indian bowlers led by Deepti Sharma (3/47) restricted England for 219 runs. India won the toss and elected to bowl first and bowled out England for 219 runs in 47 overs. For England, Natalie Sciver scored 49 runs in 59 balls with the help of five fours.
