IND Vs SL: The limited overs series between India and Sri Lanka is going to start from July 13. For this series, Rahul Dravid has been given the responsibility of the coach of the team. Former India batsman VVS Laxman has praised Rahul Dravid fiercely. VVS Laxman says that Rahul Dravid, who accompanied the Indian team on the tour of Sri Lanka as a coach, has a chance to become the champion of the future.
Laxman believes that staying with Dravid will benefit the young players a lot. Laxman said, “I don’t think there will be any pressure on Dravid. He will have a chance to make him a future champion for Indian cricket. It is not necessary that everyone gets a chance to play in this series. But spend time with Dravid. And by sharing their experience, these players will have a better future.”
Pathan shared old experience
Former Indian team all-rounder Irfan Pathan also called Dravid a person who thinks for the youth. Pathan said, “Dravid talks clearly. Even when he was the captain of Team India, Dravid was very frank with the youth. If anyone had any problem, he could go and talk to them comfortably.”
Pathan also shared the 2007 World Cup anecdote associated with Dravid. He said, “I remember a small anecdote from the 2007 World Cup in West Indies. Dravid came to me and Mahendra Singh Dhoni and said that everyone is sad, we should go to see the film.”
Pathan further said, “We went to watch the film and Dravid said yes, we have lost the World Cup. But it is not ending here. Life is big and we will come back tomorrow. Dravid had such a character. He used to fill the minds of cricketers with positivity.”
