South Africa defeated West Indies by 25 runs in the decider and final match of the series. With this, South Africa managed to win the five-match T20 series 3-2. The hero of South Africa’s victory was Markram, who scored 70 runs. Markram was also adjudged man of the match.
For South Africa, the 127-run partnership for the second wicket between Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock proved decisive in the fifth and final match. De Kock continued his excellent form and scored 60 runs in 42 balls. After winning the toss, South Africa scored 168 for four and batted first.
After this, leg-spinner Tabrez Shamsi took one wicket for only 11 runs in his four overs. Kagiso Rabada dismissed Dwayne Bravo and Nicholas Pooran in successive deliveries in the 19th over. Lungi Ngidi took three wickets for 32 runs. In the end, the West Indies team could only manage 143 runs for nine wickets.
