IND vs SL ODI: Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman says that against Sri Lanka, Team India should take the field with two fast bowlers and two spinners. He also told which bowlers should get a chance in the first ODI match. Team India will play the first ODI match from July 13. The 20-member Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan is on a tour of Sri Lanka for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is.
Advice to include these bowlers in the playing XI
Laxman said during a discussion on a sports channel on Monday that the team will have two fast bowlers in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar and should include two spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the playing XI. Laxman said that India should open with captain Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw, while Suryakumar Yadav should be the number-3 batsman.
Laxman said, “Well, it is a very wide team. There is a 20 member team. But I will go with Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw as openers. No. 3 batsman Suryakumar Yadav would be my choice. There will be Sanju Samson in ODIs at number-4, Manish Pandey at number-5, I would like to go with Hardik Pandya at number-6, Krunal Pandya at number-7. Many other names like Rana and Ishaan Kishan did not find a place.
Irfan Pathan selected this playing XI
Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan said that he would pick Rana over Krunal Pandya. Pathan said, “There is only one change I would like. Hardik Pandya is bowling, so I will keep him as an all-rounder, one more batsman I will add – Nitish Rana will be in place of Kunal. Because I would like to see Hardik Pandya bowl too many overs.”
