IND Vs ENG: The havoc of the rising corona virus in England has increased the problems of Team India. After seven members of the England team playing the ODI series against Pakistan were found to be Corona positive, the Indian team’s practice match may be in danger. India has to play a five-match Test series with England next month, in view of which the team wants to play practice matches.
However, there has been no change in the five-Test series between England and India. The England and Wales Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India said that there is no change or update regarding India’s series after positive cases were reported in the England camp. This means the ECB is continuing to consider India’s request for a warm-up match ahead of the five-Test series starting in Nottingham on August 4 next month.
The Indian team had appealed for a practice match before the Test series against England. Initially, the ECB did not have any plan to organize a practice match for the Indian team due to Corona. But last week the ECB said that it is considering the Indian team’s appeal to play practice matches.
The situation is not clear on the practice match
No decision has yet been taken on India’s appeal. It remains to be seen whether the ECB will allow any county team in the bio bubble and play a warm-up match against India.
The Indian team is currently on a three-week break and will start the camp in Durham from July 15. If the ECB organizes a match for the Indian team against any county team, it will happen in the coming few days.
The five-Test series to be played between India and England will start in the first week of August. Before this series, India can get a chance to play a practice match in the third week of July.
