Wimbledon 2021: World number one player Novak Djokovic has reached the final match of Wimbledon 2021. Novak Djokovic defeated Canada’s Denis Shapovalov 7-6 (7/3), 7-5, 7-5 in the second semi-final to reach the final. Djokovic will face Matteo Berrettini in the final. Berrettini had already secured their place in the final by defeating Hurkaz.
This is the seventh time that Djokovic has managed to make it to the final. Not only this, Djokovic has managed to make a place in the final of a Grand Slam for the 30th time in his career. Now Djokovic is eyeing a record 20th Grand Slam win. If Djokovic wins the 20th Grand Slam, he will be tied with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Talking about the match, Djokovic did not give Shapovalov any chance to return. In the first set, however, the fight between Djokovic and Shapovalov was more intense. But Djokovic once again proved himself to be the number one player and won the match in three straight sets.
Berrettini created history
Italy’s Mateo Berrettini, seventh seed, defeated Poland’s Hubert Hurkaz to enter the file of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Along with this, he has made a place in the final of any Grand Slam in his career. Berrettini defeated Hurkaz 6-3, 6-0, 6-7(3), 6-4 in the semi-finals that lasted two hours and 37 minutes to enter the title match.
Berrettini also became the first Italian player to reach the final of Wimbledon. This is Berrettini’s 11th victory on the grass court. Berrettini hit 22s while Hurkaz hit fives. The Italian player put 60 winners and Hurkaz 27 winners in the match.
