Euro Cup 2020: England is going to face Italy in the final match of Euro Cup 2020. Through this match, England’s eyes will be on ending the 55-year title drought. England last won the World Cup in 1966 by defeating Germany 4-2 at Wembley Stadium.
England broke the tale of their defeat in the semi-finals as they beat Denmark 2-1 in the semi-finals. England had lost in the semi-finals of the 1990 and 2018 World Cups and the 1996 European Championships.
England coach Gareth Southgate has been developing a youth team since 2018 and preparing his players for major tournaments. England started their campaign well and performed well in the group stage. England defeated Germany 2–0 in the last-16 and Ukraine 4–0 in the quarter-finals.
Italy has also done well
Denmark’s team was a tough opponent for England in the semi-finals. However, there is still controversy over the penalty in which Kane scored the winning goal. But there is no doubt that the England team emerged better after the first difficult 45 minutes.
Now the England team has a chance to create history and it is unlikely that Southgate will make a lot of changes in the playing XI.
On the other hand, there is the team of Italy which has performed well throughout the tournament and the team of coach Roberto Mancini has played a defensive game. Italy have made a strong comeback after missing out on a place in the 2018 World Cup. Italy has not lost a single match in this tournament and has managed to make it to the final after defeating a strong team like Spain in the semi-finals.
