India has won 28 medals so far

India has won the most medals in hockey in the history of the Olympics so far. India has won 11 medals in hockey, which is the most. In hockey, India has won eight gold, one silver and one bronze medals. While in shooting he has won four medals. Apart from this, India has won five medals in wrestling, two each in badminton and boxing and one each in tennis and weightlifting.
In the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, the hockey team got India its first gold medal.
