Tokyo Olympics 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held discussions with 15 athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics. During the discussion, the PM wished all the players good luck for the Olympics and gave a mantra to everyone to play without pressure. He said, “The whole country has hopes from you and you people will illuminate the name of the country.”
PM Modi said, “You all should not feel pressured by the burden of expectations. All of you try to win the medal by giving your 100 percent. Hope you will bring medals for the country this time. Best wishes to all of you. The best wishes of the people of the whole country are with you. You all play fiercely in Japan.

During the discussion with Archer Deepika Kumari, PM Modi said, “I have heard the story of your childhood that your archery started with picking mangoes. What do you have to say on this? ” In response to this, Deepika told that she loved plucking mangoes in childhood. Apart from this, he spoke to Praveen Kumar Jadhav, Neeraj Chopra, Mary Kom, PV Sindhu, Ashish Kumar, Sharad Kamal, Ila, Vinesh Fogal and Manpreet. He asked some questions to all the players and wished them all the best for the Olympics.
Team of Indian athletes will leave on July 17
The Tokyo Olympic Games will begin on 23 July. The Olympics will conclude on 8 August. This time 126 Indian athletes will participate in the Tokyo Olympics. The Indian Athlete’s contingent will leave for Tokyo on July 17. At present, the athletes who are preparing while staying abroad will reach Tokyo directly from there.
