Due to the Corona epidemic, this time in the Tokyo Olympics, the players may have to go through a very different experience. Members of India’s sailing team faced similar unusual circumstances at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on Tuesday. The six-member Indian sailing team had to spend more than eight hours at the airport due to lengthy official procedures, COVID tests and technical checks. It was only after going through this very tedious process that the team could leave for their hotel.
India’s sailing team did not enter the Games Village on Tuesday and the team is staying in a separate hotel a little away from here. According to an official, the Indian team had to wait a long time at the airport due to the long immigration process and the Kovid test. In the last Olympic Games, fast track lanes were arranged for the players at the airport, but this year due to Corona, they have not been included in the arrangement.
Because of this it took more time
At Tokyo Airport, all the phones of the team were first checked by the Quarantine Officer. The official said, “This investigation was done for the app for health monitoring and contact tracing. Along with this, the Kovid report before the departure from India was also examined.” At the same time, the official said, “After this he had a Kovid test, whose report took two hours to come. Although some of our team members did not have official certificates, so it took more time at the airport. You can do without official certificate.” Can’t go beyond the airport.”
