India vs County Select XI: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli had expressed his desire to play a warm-up match before the five-match Test series against England. After this, the Indian Cricket Board i.e. BCCI requested England Cricket to conduct a practice match from the board. After this the England board accepted this demand of BCCI. Now it has been learned that Team India will play a three-day practice match against the County Championship XI.
Match will be played without spectators
The Indian Test team will play a three-day warm-up match against the County Championship XI in England without spectators. This match is in preparation for the five-match Test series against England. The practice match will be played from July 20 at the Riverside Ground.
Durham County Cricket issued a statement saying, “We are pleased to announce that Emirates Riverside will host the practice match between India and the County Championship XI. This time the world’s No.2 Test team has made Emirates Riverside their home event. The venue has been made. The team will play a practice match against the county from July 20.”
The three-day game against the Virat Kohli-led side will have many players from the county circuit. It is being told that Will Rhodes will be the captain of the County Select XI team. Apart from this, players like Haseeb Hameed and Jack Libbey will also get a place in this team.
Indian team’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been found to be Corona positive and is currently in isolation.
