IND Vs ENG: Team India is in trouble due to Rishabh Pant being Corona positive on the England tour. Wriddhiman Saha, the second wicket of the team, has also been sent to isolation. Despite Team India not having an additional wicketkeeper, the BCCI has refused to send any new player to England.
Team India’s chief wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was found to be Corona positive on 8 July. Apart from Pant, the corona report of Team India staff member Dayanand Girani also came positive. Saha has been sent to isolation due to Girani being in close contact.
The BCCI believes that Rishabh Pant’s isolation period is nearing completion. Since Pant did not have any serious symptoms, there is no need to send any other player to England. BCCI said, “We are not considering sending any player to England right now.”
Kovid 19 protocols are a serious problem
In view of the threat of corona virus, a large team of 20 players has already been sent on the tour of England. Apart from this, five reserve players are also present with the team.
Let us tell you that due to the Kovid 19 protocol, it is not easy to send any player to England. The Government of England has placed India in the Red category, so any Indian has to go through a very strict quarantine in England.
The BCCI expects that Rishabh Pant’s report will come negative in the Kovid Test to be held on 18 July. However, Rishabh Pant will not be available for the practice match starting from July 20.
Saha’s isolation period will also not be completed till July 20. Saha will not be available for the practice match. In such a situation, KL Rahul will be seen playing the role of wicketkeeper in the practice match.
