SA Vs IRE: In the third and last ODI played against Ireland, the South African team made a strong comeback. South Africa decided to bat first in the third and final ODI of the series played at The Village here. South Africa scored an unbeaten 177 off 169 balls with the help of 16 fours and six sixes and 346 for four in 50 overs with the help of 11 fours and five sixes by de Kock.
Chasing the target, Ireland’s team was all out after scoring 276 runs in 47.1 overs. Andile Phehlukwayo and Tabrez Shamsi took three wickets each for South Africa, while Keshav Maharaj got two and Enrich Nortje and Lizad Williams got one wicket each.
Simi Singh created history
For Ireland, however, Simi Singh managed to create history. Simi Singh played an excellent innings of 100 not out off 91 balls with the help of 14 fours. Simi Singh has become the first player to score a century while batting at number 8 in ODI cricket. Apart from Simi, Curtis Kanfer scored 54 and Harry Tactor scored 29 runs.
Earlier, Malan and de Kock added 225 runs for the first wicket in South Africa’s innings. Apart from these, Raisey Van Der Dussen scored 30 runs. For Ireland, Joshua Little took two wickets while Craig Young and Simi got one wicket each.
