IND Vs ENG: The five-Test series between India and England is going to start from August 4. Indian players have gathered in Durham for the preparations for the Test series. Team India players took part in the practice session on Saturday under the leadership of Virat Kohli. Captain Virat Kohli has said that he is very happy to be associated with Team Camp.
Team India players are practicing at Durham County Cricket Club. Along with Kohli and Rohit, Cheteshwar Pujara and Lokesh Rahul also did batting practice in the nets. The Indian team has to play a warm-up match against the combined county team from July 20 before the Test series.
The BCCI also shared pictures of the team’s bowlers along with pacers Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. In these pictures, Indian players are seen practicing fiercely for the Test series.
Corona virus increased the trouble of Team India
The tour of England has been very difficult for Team India so far. Indian players had to play the final match of the Test Championship against New Zealand last month without a practice match. Apart from this, the recent cases of corona virus in Team India have also affected the planning of the Test series.
Recently, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and throwdown expert Dayanand Garani have come positive in the Kovid-19 investigation. Both of them are quarantined in London. Garani’s investigation report came on Thursday and Abhimanyu Easwaran, Wriddhiman Saha and bowling coach Bharat Arun, who were in close contact, are also in quarantine.
Saha, Easwaran and Bharat Arun have come negative in the investigation but they will have to follow the health safety protocol of the UK government and remain in quarantine. Both Pant and Saha will not be part of the practice match starting July 20, in which case Rahul will play the role of wicketkeeper.
