The weapon update in Fortnite has been generally well received by the community. Rather than leaving the chance to obtain higher tier weapons entirely to chance, players can use other items to level up the rarity to help even on the playing field.
While their weapon upgrades have changed in the last few seasons since its introduction, players will need two things: gold bars and NPCs that offer upgrades. While the former is fairly easy to find, the latter can be a bit more difficult, especially since they’ve changed once again.
Only 6 NPCs offer weapon upgrades:
Jonesy The First (Pleasant Park)
Bandolette (Flushed Factory)
Dummy (Compact Cars)
The Reaper (Boost Pad)
Remedy (Craggy Cliffs)
Jules (Camp Cod)#Fortnite

What NPCs help upgrade weapons in Fortnite?
Fortunately, Twitter user and leaker Mike Dulaimi found the full list of NPCs offering updates as of Season 6 and it’s a bit smaller than before. That said, it’s still pretty easy to upgrade weapons once you find the AI, so it shouldn’t be a big deal once you find them.
Jonesy the first
Jonesy The First is one of six NPCs offering updates within Fortnite Season 6. It can be found in Pleasant Park, near the top of the map, under Fortín Furtivo.
Once you are in the area, go to the northwest part. Jonesy The First is inside him. Find an upgradeable weapon and interact with it.
Another NPC that offers upgrades is Bandolette. It can be found in the section with no name Functional Factory. It is found near the ocean.
Here we have had a change of address. It used to be found in Pleasant Park, selling the Dub shotgun. He is now in Filthy Docks, where the compact cars.
The Reaper, also known to fans as the John Wick knockoff that Epic created years ago before they collaborated with the film franchise, also offers weapon upgrades on eligible weapons.
To find it, all you have to do is go to the Boost Pad section of the map. Also unnamed, this is the Rocket League-themed house overlooking the beach near the west side of the map, south of Burning Sands.
The health-focused NPC is another remnant from another map and can now be found in Sandy Cliffs, one of the northernmost POIs on the current map. It can be found in its own section focused on doctors, on the east side of the point of interest, so it should not be too difficult to find.
The last NPC offering weapon upgrades in Season 6 is Jules. It can be found in the Camp Cod section of the map, which is, once again, an unnamed location in the southern part of the map. As for where it can be found within that place, just go to the east side in the large building.
